A Year of Blessings

I happened across promo email I would usually ignore. It came from Gateway Theatre, based in Richmond, where I’ve seen a show or two a lifetime ago. Apparently Gateway Theatre, Five Blessings Collective and Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre come together to create “A Year of Blessings” – a five-part series that will take children (the target audience) through the five major festivals in the year:

• Chinese New Year
• Qingming Festival
• Dragon Boat Festival
• Mid-Autumn Festival
• Winter Solstice Festival

The 20-minute episodes are fun, mostly in English but with Cantonese and Mandarin tossed in. The series can be access, hopefully indefinitely, at their Bean Sprout page.
